March 2013 – In Evans, Georgia, just northeast of Augusta and only a couple miles of from South Carolina and the Savannah River, there is a POS software company called SecureGive that is “striving to help organizations increase charitable giving through innovative technology.” SecureGive simply put, is ‘donation software’ according to owner Patty Baker, “the SecureGive software and kiosk allows for an increase in donations because of the convenience that it offers. People no longer carry cash or checks, so this solution allows members to donate using their bank card. When giving is convenient, people give more.” Since 2003 SecureGive boasts that they are the ‘original giving kiosk company and needed another original in the POS kiosk industry, Pioneer POS to help them with their kiosk installation.

Stevens Creek Church, just down the road from SecureGive in Augusta, GA is a great example showing how together, what these pioneers can do for charitable giving. With help from Pioneers Stealth S-Line Touchcomputers, Stevens Creek has kiosks located all around the churches expansive atrium. Ann Williams, Director of Finance at Stevens Creek, said that the “proof is in the pudding” when it came to the SecureGive software being utilized with the Pioneer POS S-Lines kiosk stations. “A lot of young people these days do not carry cash, and even the oldest member of the congregation didn’t want to continue to use the longstanding tradition of writing checks and stuffing them in envelopes. He just told me recently that he makes his weekly donation through the self-serve kiosks.” Ann continued on to say that, “Even when people are on vacation or are not able to attend service, they can still donate anywhere and at any time. The kiosk giving process is essentially ‘goof proof’ and made a believer of me instantly. Also, a huge benefit for most church’s is that cash flow is always an issue from week to week, and the best part is that any church or organization using the SecureGive software, these issues are minimized.”

Not only does SecureGive offer software for kiosk’s within the actual brick and mortar churches and non-profit organizations where you can easily donate onsite, but they offer mobile apps and online giving through the organizations websites for clients all over the U.S., including Canada as well as Puerto Rico. Since many churches and organizations across the country and North America have found the SecureGive software so easy to use, they needed hardware terminals to match such streamlined software while having a minimum footprint that can fit anywhere. Not only that, but when a donor makes a donation, the terminal requires the functionality of printed receipts quickly at the point of sale. Patty added, “The SecureGive software is installed prior to the kiosk being deployed, so the kiosk is ready for donations immediately once it is delivered to the church or organization.”

Ideal for retail and self-ordering kiosks, the S-Line redefines the all-in-one design by integrating an EPSON® thermal receipt printer into a touchcomputer. Its compact design allows easy setup (watch video) and saves precious counter space by reducing cable clutter. Patty said that the “ basic function of the S-line is to allow the church to receive bank card donations”, and to make the process even easier, “SecureGive adds an ID Tech Securepin 100 pin pad  in order for the church to receive pin based debit card donations as well. This is a great plus for our customers.” The printer has a quiet operation and prints a fast 250mm (9.8″) per second, and has an auto-cutter which helps reduce paper jams. Replacing the paper is simple and works just like any standard thermal printer. The most exciting feature of the S-Line is the printer’spatented tool-less “slider” design allowing the printer to be easily replaced in the field in a matter of minutes without affecting the entire system (watch video). The S-Line stands 15″ tall and 14.5″ wide (16.25″ with MSR) and frees up space besides other POS terminals and kiosks by eliminating the need of an external printer.

Patty concluded by saying “Clients who use SecureGive report 20% and higher giving increases with an average SecureGive donation of $175.00. Better yet, 27% of registered SecureGive users are first-time givers, and hundreds of churches and organizations across the country have partnered with SecureGive. Tim Stevens of LeaddingSmart.com added that, “we believe SecureGive has more than paid for themselves by providing an additional way for families (especially new givers) to contribute to the ministry of the church.” With SecureGive helping increase ministries donations by 20-30% in the first year of operations, there is no doubt this software and the reliability and flexibility of the Pioneer POS S-Line is a unmatched combination in the kiosk market. Patty said it best by offering that, “SecureGive has a heart to see your ministry thrive, and not just survive.”
